MBALE CITY: Police asked to have a good working relationship with local leaders

Henry manana the Assistant Resident City commissioner for Mbale industrial city division has appealed to police officers to intensify their relationship with the local leaders in order to fight crime in communities.

while speaking during the event of biding farewell to Asp Alituha magidu who was transfered from Mbale Cps to Mukono at Mbale regional block over the weekend,manana noted that local leaders like LC one chairpersons,local councillors are key in good intelligence to the security.

He also noted that area leaders are in better positions to asses the residents with bad behaviours who are engaged in criminal matters and such individuals can be arrested after good investigations are done through teamwork.

"It is an unfortunate that the relationship between local leaders and police is left to specific officers such as Child and Family Protection Units  and Community Liasion officers in the district"Manana said.

Rogers Taitika the Elgon regional police spokesperson commended Asp Alituha for his great work of fighting for the widows against land grabbers, helping them to retain their properties and mentoring of his workmates.

Taitika also welcomed the New Office in-charge station (OC )Asp Andrew Anatoli and called upon him to have a good working relationship with area people for better services without taking sides.

Asp Alituha magidu has been transfered from Mbale central police station to Mukono Central police station as office of in-charge station.
