Moris Kivota ,43 year old man commonly known okeri, a resident of Musoto in Nabutiri ward Mbale industrial city division was reportedly murdered yesterday in the early morning hours and his body dumped at Nabuyoga rise in Mbale city.
Oneni keneth the councilor of Nabutiri ward in Mbale Industrial city division noted that the Nabuyoga rise has become the death trap and dangerous because the deceased is not the first person to be killed and thrown at the same road.
He stressed that security operatives should tighten more efforts on that road in order to save people's lives because the place is now on spot over continued cases murders.
According to Eluko Alfred the family member and friend of the deceased said that the deceased has been a prominent Businessman dealing in distillation of local brewers (waragi) and transportation of molasses from kenya to Uganda.
Segendo Peter a boda boda rider attributed the incident due to dysfunction lights along Nabuyoga rise which are no longer working thus big threat and this has made several locals to distance themselves from using this road during weird hours.
Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson confirmed the incident, says the body has been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem.
He added that the body was found with wounds and bruise around the back,head and neck which is an indication that there was a scuffle.
The police suspects that the assailants might have picked some money from the deceased.
"No arrest made so far but there is coordination to see that these wrong people are arrested and presented in the courts of the law"Taitika said.
