The NAM Summit, a forum for constructive dialogue and cooperation among nations, will see representatives from over 100 countries gather to address crucial issues of global importance, ranging from global security to economic collaboration. This international event holds immense significance for fostering diplomatic ties and collaborative efforts on the world stage.

Emphasizing the need for a peaceful and uninterrupted summit, Dr Baryomunsi stated, "The NAM Summit presents a platform for constructive dialogue and cooperation among nations. We must maintain an environment of tranquillity and allow the discussions to unfold without any disruptions."

His warning stems from concerns about potential disruptions by certain opposition leaders. Dr Baryomunsi urged all political actors, including those in the opposition, to prioritize the national interest and demonstrate unity during this significant international event.

"We implore all political leaders, including those in the opposition, to refrain from any actions that may jeopardize the success of the NAM Summit," the Minister added. "We have our differences, but let us concentrate on welcoming our guests. This is an opportunity for Uganda to showcase its diplomatic prowess and contribute meaningfully to global discussions."

Security measures are reportedly being strengthened to ensure the smooth functioning of the summit. Uganda's government is taking a resolute stance in ensuring a successful and productive NAM Summit, one that benefits both the nation and the international community.
