While addressing learners and teachers, Buteme said that school dropout among girls due to lack of sanitary pads is on the rise in Namisindwa and other parts of the country.
Buteme added that sanitary pads are expensive for most families, hence forcing young girls to look for sugar daddies to purchase for them sanitary pads.
She said many vulnerable girls from poor families cannot afford sanitary pads, a situation that has exposed them to sexual exploitation, teenage pregnancy and school dropout.
Hon. Buteme ,the team Leader of Buteme Junic Foundation, said that students should value education and respect their teachers, parents and the community.
Buteme said Uganda today needs someone who is educated.
"Without education you are nobody in this country. Value education and respect your teachers, parents and community if you want to succeed," Buteme told learners.
She encouraged girls to remain disciplined, avoid early pregnancy and concentrate on studies to achieve a bright future.
Buteme noted that her foundation is committed to supporting girl child education by ensuring vulnerable girls access sanitary pads and scholastic materials.
Mr. Fred Wamukota, one of the teachers at Tooma Primary School, has applauded Buteme Junic Foundation for its timely donation.
He reaffirmed that girls should value education because Buteme has been able to donate following her financial capacity through education.
"Education is what has enabled Hon. Buteme to support you. You should also value education so that tomorrow you can support others," Wamukota said.
He called upon other leaders to support girl child education to reduce school dropout in Namisindwa District.
