Hon.Peter Wamana commonly Known as"Man of Action" Independent Candidate but National Resistance Movement leaning the aspiring Member of Parliament for Namisindwa County has pledged to lift Namisindwa farmers out of poverty through Modernizing Agriculture and establishing value-addition factories if elected come 2026.
Speaking during campaign rallies in areas Bupoto ,Buwakhata ,Buwele Nabuboka Town Council respectively yesterday, Wamana said that NRM government has prioritized Agriculture through NAADs despite gaps in leadership, because our country depend on Agriculture as backbone of Uganda’s economy,our district serve as food bucket for Mbale City and other Cities like Kampala, there is need to improve agriculture sector
Hon Wamana promised to introduce irrigation system through use of solar pumps which will help farmers during dry seasons most especially those practicing Hoticulture like onion growers, Tomatoes among others.
He revealed that people still use ordinary methods of irrigation more during dry seasons .
I promise if elected,I will lobby for solar pumps and other irrigation systems for consistent water flow in the area.He stressed"
Wamana added that poor leadership at grassroot levels led farmers to remain trapped in poverty due to low farm-gate prices and exploitation by middlemen.
People have to trust Hon.Wamana with vote , he is ready to lobby for value-addition factories across the county to process raw materials locally. This will raise farmers’ incomes, create jobs, and reduce Poverty,” he told cheering supporters.
However He attributed the dry spell to Man's Activities across the country , leading to long drought hence affecting farmers in Namisindwa district and beyond.
The long spell has prompted Hoticulture farmers to use ordinary methods of irrigation of the 21st century, I'm suppressed with the old mode of farming which is dangerous, less yields.
He rallies locals for support, hope to implement a mobile shop for farm inputs for easy accessibility.
He narrated that health systems is in worrying state,Hon.Wamana advocates to lobby for CT Scan from partners for Bupoto Health III .
The rallies attracted massive turnouts, with supporters lining ,cheering and chant as the Hon.Wamana passed.
Hon Wamana appreciated people of Bupoto and neighboring areas for warm reception and commitment of supporting Nrm government.
Namisindwa County is battling with poor road infrastructure,high unemployment and poverty, the Namisindwa Constituency has become a critical battleground in the 2026 elections—and Wamana is making it a central plank of his campaign trail.
Damascus Makeme LCIII Chairperson of Bupoto Subcounty applauded Hon.Wamana for the tremendous works towards service delivery like rehabilitation of Water sources , Roads and simple accessible bridges across the constituency which has improved the livelihood of the communities.
Makeme also revealed that dry spell has continued to affect Hoticulture farmers includes; cabbage, onion, other vegetable growers, calls government quick intervention.
He reiterated that people of Namisindwa County should elect leaders like hon Peter Wamana who may liberate the county,Current leaders disappeared and our votes we put on the waste .
