 Banyole  asks govt to gazette their cultural leader and tarmac Namutumba -Butaleja road


Banyole from Butaleja District and surrounding areas have asked the government to quicken Gazzettement of their cultural leader (sehulu) and tarmacking of Namutumba-Butaleja -Nabumali road.

Hussein Kadimba the president of Banyole living outside Butaleja District while speaking during the 3rd oluhuje of Banyole at Nakaloke playground in Mbale city over the weekend, revealed that Obwa Sehulu bwa Banyole elected Prof. Elly Wesana Chomi and the remaining issue is for government to officially gazette it.


Kadimba noted that the declaration will help to continue fostering unity among Banyole within and outside Butaleja.

Apollo lyadda  the prime minister of obwa sehulu bwa Banyole cultural institution,said the proclamation of their cultural leader will help  them to be organized for mobilizing people to participate in government program   for social economic transformation.

“president Museveni initiated the cultural institution with the aim of people to know their culture and tribal heritage through history and generations “prime minister said.

He also called upon the government to fulfill its pledge of tarmacking Namutumba-Butaleja road to ease transportation of goods and people to other parts of the country.

“If gov’t works on the gazzettement of our cultural leader and tarmac Namutumba-Butaleja-Mbale road, we will campaign for  President Museveni to get 90 percent of votes in Butaleja District. “Prime minister added.


Hon Yusuf Mutembuli the member of parliament for Bunyole East revealed that gov’t convinced him to join National Residence Movement from Democratic party on one condition of tarmacking Namutumba-Butaleja-Mbale road, but up to now nothing has been done.


“Am going through alot because of that road, so if you want me back to parliament, tarmac the road ”mutembuli tells the Gov”t.


Captain George Mike mukula who represented the speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among as chief guest while responding promised to spend up and do the follow up for the Gazzettement of cultural leaders for Banyole.


Mukula also said he has already written to president Museveni and assured to peruse for the tarmacking of Namutumba-Butaleja-Nabumali road saying it will help in transportation of rice from the region and connect Banyole to the rest of Uganda.


He applauded Hussein kadimba the president of Banyole living outside Butaleja as well as the Assistant Resident city commissioner for mobilizing such a colourful event to unite Banyole in Uganda.
