Irene Mutonyi hopeful Woman member of Parliament Manafwa district has called for urgent and deliberate efforts to transform the whole of Manafwa District.
Irene Mutonyi , a Media Practictioner and Journalist working with Big Fm Radio situated in Indiana quarters mbale city who has declared her bid for the Parliamentary seat in 2026 on the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticked says that the our entire district has lost from glory and needs new blood to restore it .
Mutonyi a born of Bukoma Sub -County who recently served different media agencies like SBC family which includes Open Gate Fm &Step fm radio respectively,she also served mbale senior Secondary School as information expert says that it is time to put things right in Manafwa district.
Mutonyi has outlined objectives aimed at modernizing Manafwa district. She acknowledges that while major projects fall under government jurisdiction, her priority areas include health, education, Youths &Women empowerment, and income-generating activities.
“A healthy community is a strong community,” Mutonyi revealed , pledging to advocate for improved healthcare services. Her plan includes ensuring that all healthcare workers, regardless of cadre, are well-motivated and that health facilities are better equipped with vital medical tools. She also emphasizes preventive care initiatives to reduce disease burden and improve overall public health.
Drawing from her expertise in Media fraternity, Mutonyi understands the gaps in service delivery more so in health prioritization. She vows to push for policies that place healthcare at the forefront of Manafwa’s development agenda.
Mutonyi says that she is equally dedicated to enhancing education opportunities for the youth. His strategy involves improving school infrastructure, ensuring access to quality education, and fostering skills development that aligns with the evolving job market. She envisions a future where Manafwa’s youth are well-equipped to compete both locally and globally.
She further revealed that her plans to engage government agricultural extension workers to periodically visit communities and accelerate government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and GROW initiatives.
“God has raised a generational leader with diverse development plans for the sustainability of Manafwa District,” said Mukoya Moses one of her supporters.
Mutonyi added “i will also make sure that all teachers’ remuneration is worked on so that their salaries are improved”.
She said its high time the salaries and general welfare of teachers both teaching arts and those of sciences and at all levels are addressed by government.
