The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), a prominent opposition party in Uganda, is actively scouting individuals for various positions in the upcoming 2026 elections, ranging from local council roles to top leadership positions.

Honorable Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the General Secretary of the FDC party, said that this initiative aims at verdict of capable and well-regarded candidates who can serve effectively both the people and party in their respective areas.
''whoever wants to contests on the FDC flag at any level must show interest by the end February or else we will close them out and find other candidates who are committed to work for the FDC party''He said.
Mafabi stressed that the importance of early declarations from serving leaders, underlining the need for seriousness in the selection process.
He made this remarks during a meeting with FDC party leaders of Sironko district at the Mountain Inn Hotel in Mbale City over the weekend
He cautioned that the party will not entertain candidates lacking commitment or sincerity. During a recent announcement, he revealed that FDC's National Executive Council was elected on October 6, 2023, at their headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
However In response to circulating rumors from the Katonga group, Mafabi clarified that Jack Sabiiti holds the position of party chairman, refuting claims that Waswa Birigwa is no longer the chairman FDC party .
He urged journalists to verify facts before reporting and ensure accuracy and prevent the spread of misleading news among the Ugandans.
Notably, Honorable Nathan Nandala Mafabi, expressing his commitment to the party's cause, confirmed that if entrusted with the position of party president in 2026, he would represent FDC members fearlessly.
