Bwayo made the call on Monday while while addressing Media at his Office in Namisindwa district .
He confirmed that all government health centers in Namisindwa have received sufficient drugs from National Medical Stores and there is no excuse for patients missing medicine.
"I call upon our people in Namisindwa to go for routine health checks and take medication as prescribed. Now that medicine is available in our health facilities delivered by NMS, we should use this opportunity to stay healthy," Bwayo said.
He however issued a strong warning to health workers against absenteeism and selling government drugs.
"I urge all health workers to desist from absenteeism and selling government drugs in government health facilities. These drugs are free and meant for our people. Anyone caught will be arrested and prosecuted," Bwayo warned.
He said the district has strengthened its monitoring and supervision teams to ensure health workers report on duty on time and that drugs reach the intended beneficiaries.
Bwayo also asked the community to report any health worker who asks for money for free government drugs.
Rose Muyama one of the Residents if Bupoto Town council who spoke to our welcomed the availability of drugs but asked the district to address the challenge of few health workers in some hard-to-reach facilities.
She said that Health facilities has few doctors and nurses who are overwhelmed with work.
