Feeding Humanity UK, a Non-Government Organisation, has donated food items and clothes to over 200 vulnerable residents of Kama Town Council in Sironko District.
Hussein Ghafoor the Director of Feeding Humanity UK ,said the donation was prompted by long drought that saw crops fail to yield hence hunger is on the rise in Bugisu sub-region.
He stressed that hunger is high and as a family charity organisation they donated assorted items including Maize flour, beans, rice, cooking oil, sugar and salt.
Ghafoor also revealed that the organisation has spent the last 18 years serving humanity across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and following their field findings, Uganda has more vulnerable population.
Speaking after donating food items and clothes to over 200 residents of Kama Town Council in Sironko District, Ghafoor said Uganda needs more attention from donors.
He noted that many families in Bugisu sub-region and other parts of Uganda are facing hunger, poverty and lack of basic needs due to climate change and drought.
Ghafoor called for more support and donations from any donor across the world to save the vulnerable communities in Uganda.
"I call for more support and donations from any donor across the world. The need is too big. Let us join hands to feed humanity," he appealed.
He promised that Feeding Humanity UK will continue to support vulnerable communities in Sironko, Bugisu and Uganda at large.
Meanwhile Mafabi Muzamiru, the LC I Chairperson of Magulu Lower Cell, Kama Town Council, Sironko, welcomed the donation.
Mafabi added that Bugisu Sub-region has experienced long drought and all crops have been destroyed but these good Samaritans have saved them.

Mafabi Bruhamani Mugehema Another resident, also appreciated Feeding Humanity UK for the food donations.
"May the Almighty Allah bless Mr. Ghafoor Hussein for remembering us," he said.
Nabutuwa Azada, one of the beneficiaries, was excited after receiving a food package from Feeding Humanity UK organisation.
