Wamana Independent Candidate Says Will Champion Youth, Healthcare, Equity in Namisindwa County

Namisindwa County Member of Parliament candidate on independent Ticket Peter Wamana but National Resistance Movement(NRM) leaning, has reaffirmed his commitment to fighting for the common citizen in his constituency.

Speaking to his voters in Bungati , Luwa Town council and Mukoto Subcounty respectively ,Honorable Wamana who is commonly described as a “Man Of Action ,”assured them of better service delivery and elaborated some of few projects like reopening of inaccessible roads , First-Aid centers in Five Subcounties among other projects.

He noted that he has personally risked his resources and life in service of the people of Namisindwa.

Wamana focused on key issues affecting Namisindwa County , emphasizing the importance of economic participation, equitable development, and healthcare improvements.

Wamana said that Uganda’s labor force is predominantly comprised of the youth. Government regulations and proper oversight are needed to ensure that everyone can participate in the economy more so the youths.

He stressed that supporting youth employment and economic inclusion is critical for the sustainable development of both Namisindwa and Uganda as a whole.

In health, Wamana narrated the state of healthcare in Namisindwa County, pointing out that local Health Centre IIs and IIIs are underfunded and under-resourced.

“Namisindwa has poorly funded and stunted Health Centre IIs ,IIIs and without a hospital It is important to bring this to the attention of key stakeholders, as it is an issue of national importance,” he said, calling for immediate action to improve access to quality healthcare for residents.

Hon.Wamana also promised to push for more medical outreaches and solar power projects on this facilities and for households without electricity, saying these would improve welfare at village, parish and sub-county levels.

On education, Wamana cited out his lobbying skills with different investors in Uganda for financial literacy and investment in the area, which targets both girls and boys at risk of dropping out or marrying early, and said he would prioritise improving learning opportunities, especially for youths. He pledged to promote computer lessons in every primary school and strengthen ICT and digital literacy to match the demands of a global, technology-driven economy.

Wamana further welcomed government reforms to make the national curriculum more practical and skills-based, saying this was equipping learners in Namisindwa County with employable skills.              

Wamana is seeking to replace incumbent Apollo Masika , who has represented the constituency under the NRM ticket since 2016.
