The Buwanga Farmers Union is set to bring about a significant change in the lives of farmers in Masaka Town Council, Manafwa District.
Spearheaded by Dr. Wefwafwa Andrew, Director of Buwanga Way to Health Foundation, and his friends from the United Kingdom, the union aims to empower farmers with skills, resources, and markets to improve their livelihoods.
The union will organize and mobilize farmers, establish model farms, improve crop and livestock productivity, provide training and skills, strengthen market access and value addition, develop storage and reduce waste, provide inputs and shared equipment, promote inclusion, promote environmental sustainability, advocate for farmers' rights, and link farming to health.
With 24 villages in Masaka Town Council, the union plans to recruit at least 50 farmers per village, ensuring a wide reach and impact.
