Leaders Support Nakaloke Mosque Fundraising Drive

Thousands of Muslims gathered at Nakaloke Playground in Mbale Northern City Division for Eid ul-Adha prayers, celebrating the holy day with a strong sense of faith and community.

The prayers, organized by the Nakaloke Center Mosque Eid Committee, also served as a platform to boost the fundraising campaign for the ongoing construction of the Nakaloke Center Mosque.

Among the notable contributors was Counsel Wanyoto, who donated 10 mosque windows valued at UGX 7 million, along with 100 Qur’ans and 100 Yassarnal Qur’ans to support religious education for children. “Giving comes from the heart,” Wanyoto said, emphasizing the importance of using one’s blessings to support others.

Michael Jackson Kisolo also donated two windows worth UGX 1.4 million and encouraged unity among National Resistance Movement (NRM) aspirants in the Northern Division. He appealed to Hajji Zubair Galiwango, Muzamil, and Naswangi to rally behind a consensus candidate for the upcoming NRM elections. “This election should be about unity and dialogue, not division,” he urged.

Hajji Muzamil Hirome, who is vying for Mbale City NRM Chairperson, welcomed the cancellation of previous NRM primaries by Dr. Tanga Odoi, Chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission, calling it a timely and fair decision. He pledged to ensure transparency and fairness in future elections. “We must stop selling flags to those who have lost—we cannot continue taking people’s money unjustly,” he said.

Yahaya, the Deputy RCC for Mbale Northern City Division, also called for unity and mutual support among Muslims and urged the public to remain united as the country moves toward elections.

The event concluded peacefully, capturing the true spirit of Eid through worship, generosity, and solidarity.
