Police in Industrial city division mbale city have arrested 52 year old man over sexually abusing a 12 year old girl using his fingers. The suspect has been identified as Waguwale Bakali a resident of Bugema B cell Industrial city Division Mbale City.
According to Rogers Taitika Elgon Region Police spokesperson said Waguwale was alleged that yesterday evening 10th ,June 2024 at 1000 hrs sent young girl to buy for him packed waragi of one thousand shillings After delivering the waragi to him at his house victim was together with two younger biological sisters .
He cited that Waguwale later sent her to buy chapati of five hundred shillings and while giving him the chapati the suspect convinced the young girl to enter inside his house Immediately she entered inside the house suspect gave a coin of one hundred shillings to the two young children who immediately went to buy sweets leaving her inside the house with the suspect closed the door .
It's alleged that Waguwale undressed young girl and pushed his two figures inside her vagina while saying that he is checking whether she is mature for sex. The victim cried due to pain opened the door and went reported the matter to her parents.
The locals gathered and arrested the suspect handed him to Bugema Police station where the law is taking it's course accordingly.
Defilement report;
A new police crime report covering the period of January – May indicates that most defilement cases have been committed by teachers and Boda Boda riders.
Releasing the report today SP Taitika said that in the last five months, police registered over 100 defilement cases every month from Bugisu region.
He says the number is certainly beyond that because some cases are illegally settled at the community level without reporting to police.
Taitika says that some suspects have been sentenced to prison while others are still on remand at different prisons in Bugisu region.
