Schools in Bugisu region celebrates UACE results

Cross section of schools in Bugisu region and mainly in mbale city are on celebrations over  Uganda advanced certificate of education results which were released yesterday at state house Nakasero by minister of education and sport mama Janet kataha museveni in conjuction with different stakeholders.

Moving to different schools in mbale city and beyond have colourful results.

Mbale secondary school known as the center of excellence in sciences both in eastern and Uganda at large have taked up to shine in UACE results for 2023 released yesterday 7th march 2024.

The school registered 868students,862 managed to sit for the exams and 6 missed.

They got three students Buwebo shafik,Nambuya Judith and kitutu Benjamin scored 19 points respectively (PCM,HDLUM and HDL).

8 students scored 18points, eleven scored 17,other eleven also scored 16 points,8 scored 15 points and many others with 14,13 and 12.

Moses Buyera the headteacher mbale secondary school while speaking to the media revealed that over 50 students are more likely to get government sponsorship in public universities like in Makerere,Mbarara,Busitema,Soroti and Gulu to do medical courses.

Buyera also noted that for the first time at the school, arts has competed with sciences favourably.

"In overall students performed well in mathematics, chemistry physics and there was much improvement in arts subjects like history,literature,Lumasaba and CRE "Buyera said.

"However one of the biggest challenge we got us the school is Biology which is not only the issue with only Mbale SS but the whole county,we hope to work hard for improvement"he noted.


Magomu Isaac the headteacher oxford high school also noted that the school relatively performed well with the best student scoring 16points.

They had the total of 26 students sat for UACE for 2023,16 got two principle pass and remaining with one.

He commended the teachers and parents for doing tremendous job towards the students good performance.




According to Alex Wesonga deputy head teacher St Edwards senior secondary school in Manafwa said that school also successed scored best results in Uganda advanced certificate of education results .

Wesonga revealed that the school registered 18 students and their best candidate scored 14 grades.

 He added following this better results other students attained at least  principal pass which qualifies them to join university or higher institutions of learning In Uganda respectively 

He attributes the better results due to discipline of the students and hardwork of staff  including teachers and management.
