Budadiri West Youths urged to Stop gambling,Engage in Productive Programs


The Member of Parliament for Budadiri West county in Sironko District Godfrey Wanyoto (also known as Godmark )has urged the youth in his constituency to avoid spending valuable time on gambling stations.

He asked them to use the time to participate in government poverty eradication related programs.

According to him, youths need to invest their energies in economic empowerment programs like PDM, EMYOOGA and women and youth livelihood programs to fight poverty, As he believes that youth won’t get rich through gambling.

 “I call upon people of Budadiri West and Masabaland to take advantage of the government programs and projects to fight poverty through active participation”He said.

He said that services such healthcare, education, road infrastructure among others have been tackled by the government and that it is upon the locals to utilize these facilities fo the better.

The legislator used the opportunity to appeal to his voters to grant him another term in parliament so that he can effectively complete the pending projects.

Hon Wanyoto said that youths have to shun in engaging gambling and embrace productive work.

 Lawmaker has criticized the pursuit of quick riches, advocating instead for active participation in government-led economic empowerment programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, while also proposing banning daytime sports betting to encourage citizens to engage in meaningful economic work.
