Princess Namuganza Speaker of 12th Parliament Urges Community to Show Love and Solidarity to Muslims During Eid Ul-Fitr Celebration

As the Muslim community prepares to celebrate Eid Ul-Fitr Tomorrow 20th March, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Princess Persis Namuganza the Minister of lands Housing and Urban Development, Member of Parliament of Bukono County and Aspiring Speaker of the 12th Parliament has called on the community to show love, solidarity, and support for their Muslim neighbors during this important occasion.

‎Speaking to the press Today evening at her residence in Bukono, Namutumba district , Hon Namuganza emphasized the significance of fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths. 

‎She noted that Eid Ul-Fitr provides a unique opportunity for the community to come together in celebration, sharing in the values of compassion, charity, and goodwill that the Muslim holiday embodies.

‎“Let us take this moment to extend our love and support to our Muslim brothers and sisters as they mark the end of Ramadan,” Namuganza said.

‎“Eid Ul-Fitr is not just a celebration for Muslims; it is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the importance of unity, tolerance, and respect for one another, regardless of our religious backgrounds.”

‎Speaking to this Publication, the Minister encouraged the community to actively participate in Eid Ul-Fitr celebrations, whether through visiting Muslim friends, sharing meals, or offering gifts. 

‎She also highlighted the importance of charity during the festive season, urging those who are able to support the less fortunate, including orphans, widows, and vulnerable families within the community.

‎“Eid is a time for giving,” Namuganza continued. “We should all strive to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling, especially after the challenges many have faced due to the pandemic and economic hardships. Let us come together to uplift one another in the true spirit of love and humanity.”

‎In her remarks, MP Namuganza also praised the Muslim community for their contributions to the social and economic development of Busoga Region and Uganda at large.

‎She acknowledged the hard work and dedication shown by Muslims in promoting education, healthcare, and business growth, noting that these efforts have played a significant role in improving the welfare of the entire country.

‎“We all have a role to play in building a prosperous and peaceful society,” she said. “I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Muslim community for their resilience and commitment to making Uganda a better place for all of us.”
