Moses Wambogo the NRM Chairman Mbale district and The patron of all National Resistance Movement Chairpersons in Bugisu Sub-region hailed Ugandans and Voters in the region for overwhelmingly supporting and voting the Ruling Party President and all Nrm flag bearers in different political positions.
Wambogo added that this win is not accidental, it reflects strategic and deliberate investment in the youth, the largest demographic in Uganda, through programs like the Presidential Initiative on Skilling the Girl and Boy Child at Lukhonje skilling Center, the Parish Development Model (PDM) program and youth livelihood programs that directly touch the daily lives of ordinary Ugandans and Voters in Bugisu.
The youth, once courted with rhetoric, are now being empowered with real tools for survival and success.
He also added that president Museveni's victory was attributed through the strong party grassroot mobilisation from the village, district and regional Taskforce.
Wambogo stressed that the Nrm manifesto for 2026-2031 under theme "Protecting the gains as we make a Qualitative leap into higher middle -income status ." made a significancy because we promised Ugandans to continue driving development, infrastructure growth and wealth creation with focus on science, innovation and Job creation.
The result hands the 81-year-old YK Museveni the decisive victory he sought to bolster his political position as speculation mounts about his eventual succession.
Uganda's electoral commission last month declared President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni had received 71 per cent of the votes. His main challenger, the pop singer-turned-politician Bobi Wine, was credited with 24 percent.
National Resistance Movement led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also swept village-level youth polls, taken control of grassroots structures, and consolidated support among key demographics that will inevitably shape the national ballot next year.
