Reverend John Mutenyo Wanda, a 78-year-old retired teacher, has donated an acre of land to President Museveni in appreciation of what he described as his "purposeful leadership."
The
land, situated near the Presidential Skilling Hub in Lukhonge Subcounty, Mbale
District, is expected to facilitate the hub's expansion.
This
facility has played a pivotal role in equipping youth in the region with
practical skills.
At the
handover event, Wanda remarked, "My son and I have witnessed your power,
love, commitment, and willingness to shoulder the problems of this country. As
a token of our appreciation, we are giving you this piece of land."
He
commended President Museveni for establishing the skilling hub, which he
highlighted as a symbol of dedicated leadership and a commitment to national
development.
“This
industrial skilling hub is a visible and clear indicator of your purposeful
leadership in Uganda,” Wanda stated, expressing gratitude to the president and
other Ugandans contributing to such initiatives.
The
reverend emphasized that the land donation was a gesture of his family's
heartfelt appreciation for the ongoing efforts to uplift communities.
"Your
Excellency, I am moved, along with my son, to donate this land connected to the
hub to you," he said.
