UMA Donates Items worth 213million to Mbale regional hospital

Uganda Manufactures Association(UMA)has donated assorted items worth Ugx 213million to Mbale regional referal hospital with the purpose of giving back to the Mbale community through the hospital.

The items donated includes gloves, oxygen,medicine,plastic tank,bathing soap,baby Vaseline,mattresses,fire extinguishers and condoms among others.

The donation was handled over to the management of hospital over the weekend by the team from UMA.

Ezra Mukhumuza Rubanda the executive Director UMA noted that the items delivered were arranged through social corporate responsibility drive to Mbale Regional hospital.

"Most of our manufactures collected what each could contribute,and we made a package worth Ugx 213million that we got during Marathon to help the hospital " mukhumuza said.

He urged other companies to emulate and also support the hospital since the government alone can't manage to support the health facility.

Dr. Stephen Obo,the director Mbale regional Referral hospital appaulded UMA for donation saying the support has come at initial period and will be impactful to the hospital.

He also revealed that the facility which serves the population of over 5 million with different health complications ,the support is timely and urgent.
