KOICA launches First Smart Class Room Project in Mbale city

Korea International Corporation Agency(KOICA) have launched the first Smart class Room project at Mbale senior secondary school in industrial city division mbale city.

This project consists of projectors,laptops,desktops,Smart podium and other electronic accessories to transform traditional classroom in dynamic space where learning is enriched with technology.

Jihee AHN the country director KOICA Uganda while launching the project yesterday at Mbale secondary school noted that the project is conceived with the aim of transforming the learning environment by integrating ICT into classroom and empowering teachers with necessary skills to utilize these tools effectively.

"In today's digital age equipping our students and educators with ICT proficiency is not just beneficial;it is essential.it prepares our students for the future,enhance their learning experiences,and provides them with skills they need to thrive in technology-driven world"Jihee said.

Moses Buyera the Headteacher Mbale Secondary school applauded  KOICA for facilitating the equipment revealing that Mbale SS is the first school in the region to have such a project.

He also said that the project costed the total Ugx 120millions shillings in acquiring the equipments such as 25 projectors,screens,computers,Smart podiums,speakers and other accessories for covering ten senior one classrooms and 15 laboratories.

The headteacher encouraged other schools to come and benchmark with Mbale ss for the benefit of learners.

"Today under the New curriculum,we are talking alot about intergrating of ICT,practical skills to the learners,so a learner who goes out without learning how to use a computer or technology it will become difficult for him or her in this digital Era."Buyera said.

Linus Nasimiyu, the Mbale city education officer jubilated this milestone in boosting up technology for education.

She commended KOICA for the Smart classroom which aims at to create an ICT-convergent class Room environment and strengthen teacher's ICT capacities.

Hamza Banja the deputy RCC for Mbale industrial city division appreciated KOICA for being in the same line with government plans of emphasizing the importance of ICT and science in New curriculum.

Senior ones are the first beneficiary of the Smart Room project, and the school have hope to extent it up to senior four.
