Police in Namisindwa District are investigating the death of three months baby who died in house following abandonment by her parents at their home.
The incident occured in Buyasere Village,Buwabingwa parish ,Namboko Subcounty in Namisindwa district.when fire caught the house hence led to the death of baby, case was reported at Namisindwa central police station under file number DEF 011/2024.
According to Katami James LC1 of Buyasera village the child has been identified as Kakayi Shilla a female aged 03 months, This happened when her parents Mr Mwarye Syras and wife Nabutiru Eunice went to a savings group and the child was left asleep inside their house unfortunately fires from no where was seen that burnt the child beyond recognition.
ASP Rogers Taitika Elgon region spokesperson of police has confirmed the incident .
Taitika highlighted that suspects have been detained at Namisindwa central police station for further investigation.
He further said preliminary investigations indicates that the fires could have been originated from a burning item that might have been left inside house.
However He cautioned parents and stakeholders to be vigilant and responsibility of parenting on children while at home or any premises.
