Hip-hop, Afropop, and dancehall artist Fik Fameica, real name Shafik Walukagga’s Twitter account , has been confiscated by the handler based in San Francisco yesterday March 20, 2024, for joining forces with the government.
According to the communication posted on twitter by the handler, he confiscated the account that he built to promote Fik Fameica, but he instead joined hands with the government, which goes against their values.
“As the administrator
behind his Twitter account, I have made the difficult decision to confiscate
the account that I built for him. Despite my efforts to amplify important
messages about human rights and justice through his platform, Fik Fameica has
chosen to align himself with the government and participate in
influencer programs that go against the values we once stood for. I want to
make it clear that every post and tweet made on the artist’s account was
crafted by me, and I have been the voice behind his online presence,” the
handler wrote on X.
“It is disheartening to see the artist turn away from the people who supported him and instead choose to join forces with the government. While his popularity and success have grown, it has been at the expense of the values we once shared. I now leave it to you, the public, to decide the artist’s fate,” X handler added.
The account’s confiscation comes days after Fameica was in Greater Masaka during the launch of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), which saw other artists like Gravity Omutujju, Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, Alien Skin, Weasle, Melody, and Winnie Nwagi perform for the crowd on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Masaka Liberation Square in Masaka City.
Fik Fameica is known for his hit songs like Buligita, Omu Bwati, My Property, Mwanga, Majje, Sitoma, Style Nta, Tosukuma, Kanzunzu, Tubikole, Kutama, and many more.
