A shocking incident occurred in Busia -Malaba Uganda- Kenya border when suspected smugglers driving a vehicle intentionally knocked dead a UPDF officer attached to Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

The deceased, Joseph Kamulegeya who has been working with Uganda Revenue Authority, Malaba border was knocked dead on Friday, 15th December, 2023.
It was reported that the officers intercepted a vehicle which has not yet been identified at Point 8, Sofia B village, Malaba Uganda- Kenya border line.
The driver intentionally knocked the officer killing him on the spot and later sped inside Kenya and disappeared from there.
According to Moses Mugwe, the Bukedi south police sportsperson, the body was found lying in a pool of blood and the gun was recovered.
He also says that the body has been taken to Rubongi military hospital for post-mortem as police of Kenya and Uganda are hunting down the vehicle and driver who knocked him.
